The Igtuble People Strings Band is a traditional music group from Tubungan, Iloilo, made up of Indigenous musicians who preserve and perform cultural songs and dances. The group was revived in 2007 by Chieftain Recto Taghap, who gathered musicians from Igtuble and nearby villages to bring back sayaw music, which had faded due to modern influences. Members have played key roles in keeping the tradition alive by crafting instruments and passing down their skills. The band plays at weddings, festivals, and rituals, helping strengthen community ties and share their culture with younger generations and visitors. Despite their importance, they face challenges like aging members, limited interest from youth, and a lack of formal recognition or facilities. To protect their legacy, the community promotes training, documentation, and support from local and national cultural groups.
