The Alimodian Heritage Conservation Society, Inc. (AHCS), based in Iloilo, was founded in 2009 to support the implementation of the National Heritage Law and promote the town’s cultural preservation. Its roots trace back to 1997 when founder Julius Alejo began collecting artifacts, which eventually led to the group’s formation. One of its key milestones includes the 2009 Mahimod-uson exhibit, which later inspired the Himod-us Festival and helped establish a heritage space in the town’s public market. The Alimodian municipal flag, created in 1973 during Mayor Miguel Anas’s term, is a colorful nylon banner symbolizing the town’s identity, featuring 51 gold stars for its barrios and a central flame and seal. At 26 by 42 inches, it incorporates blue, red, orange, and pink lines from a white triangle, making it a unique municipal flag design in the Philippines. SINAKOL MAKING (A STICKY RICE DELICACY)

Sinakol is a traditional sticky rice delicacy from Alimodian, Iloilo, popular in Barangay Taban–Manguining and surrounding areas, where it has been made since before World War II. The snack is prepared using glutinous rice, coconut, muscovado and white sugar, and water. It is steamed in a bamboo-matted cauldron then formed into soft round balls, and finally wrapped in banana leaves. Agony Hill is a small hill located in Sitio Taban, Barangay Taban-Maguining, Alimodian, covering 1.87 hectares with an elevation of up to 100 meters.
