The Alimodian Heritage Conservation Society, Inc. (AHCS), based in Iloilo, was founded in 2009 to support the implementation of the National Heritage Law and promote the town’s cultural preservation. Its roots trace back to 1997 when founder Julius Alejo began collecting artifacts, which eventually led to the group’s formation. One of its key milestones includes the 2009 Mahimod-uson exhibit, which later inspired the Himod-us Festival and helped establish a heritage space in the town’s public market. AHCS has worked with various groups to install several historical markers and continues to organize conservation efforts and cultural mapping in partnership with schools, government agencies, and NGOs. A major project was the dispute and eventual conservation of materials from the old Eloisa Bridge, with its bricks later reused in heritage monuments. The group remains active, though it currently faces space and facility issues, and is lobbying for a permanent museum to better preserve and display its growing collection.
