Dagway Sigmahanon, Inc., based in Poblacion Norte, Sigma, Capiz, is a community theater founded in 1998 to empower the youth through performing arts. The group produces plays that reflect the culture, traditions, and aspirations of the Sigmahanon people and trains its members in both artistic and life skills. Over the years, DSI has performed notable productions like Igun Itom, Pilak, and Dali sa Capiz, collaborating with groups such as the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA). Dr. Vicente Caluba Villan, born in 1969 in a sitio in Capiz, grew up in a farming family and overcame many challenges to pursue education. He earned his BA, MA, and PhD in History from the University of the Philippines Diliman, becoming the first from his area to earn a doctorate in history. He has taught at UP Los Baños and UP Diliman, where he holds several important academic and leadership roles. 1943 MAKINILYA KANG SIGMA POST OFFICE

The 1943 Underwood typewriter, once used in the Sigma Post Office, is a sturdy metal machine bought from Iloilo City and brought to Sigma by train. It played an important role in helping the community reconnect after World War II, especially when the post office reopened in 1945. Belonging to Mr. De Alba, the postmaster, it was used for writing letters, reports, and official documents, making it a key tool in local communication and public service. The typewriter shows signs of aging, such as rust and fading, but is still preserved in good condition.

Pagbulaw is a traditional healing ritual practiced in several barangays in Sigma, Capiz, involving turmeric, charcoal, coconut shell, and specific leaves. The healer, called an albularyo, uses smoke, prayers, and turmeric applied on the patient’s body to treat illnesses believed to be caused by supernatural forces. Patients must avoid washing for 24 hours and pray for three nights to help the healing process. Mount Supo, located in Barangay Parian, Sigma, Capiz, covers 16 hectares and includes the twin mountains Agbubuto and Agpuputay, named after male and female reproductive organs due to their shape.
