Dr. Vicente Caluba Villan, born in 1969 in a sitio in Capiz, grew up in a farming family and overcame many challenges to pursue education. He earned his BA, MA, and PhD in History from the University of the Philippines Diliman, becoming the first from his area to earn a doctorate in history. He has taught at UP Los Baños and UP Diliman, where he holds several important academic and leadership roles. Dr. Villan has contributed to many research projects, publications, and served as a history consultant for TV series and local heritage groups. His work focuses on the history, culture, and psychology of the Visayas region and has helped preserve Filipino history through both academic and public platforms.
