The Sculpture of St. John de Nepomuceno in Poblacion, Anini-y is a wooden statue said to have been created around 1900. The statue, which originally held a plant in one hand, features a sculpted three-layered priestly vestment and is displayed in the convent of the Parish of St. John de Nepomuceno. It holds significant spiritual importance as the patron saint of confessions and is central to the parish’s feast celebrations, where it is paraded by male devotees. The statue is one of two old wooden figures of St. John de Nepomuceno in the parish. While similar statues exist in other parishes, this particular piece is considered unique to the municipality of Anini-y. It is in a deteriorated state, with signs of yellowing, fading, foxing (brown spots), holes, and insect infestation, which have made it unsuitable for processions. Despite its physical condition, the statue is carefully maintained by the convent caretakers.
