Hallara Vulcanizing Shop in Pavia, Iloilo was started by Gerardo Hallara Sr., who learned the trade from his parents and later moved the business from Sta. Barbara to Pavia in 2009. The shop, now located across from Pavia National High School, became well-known for quality tire repair services and is still operated by Gerardo’s children. Over the years, the shop has used tools passed down through generations, including an old air compressor and pipe wrench, symbolizing the family’s dedication to the business. It has helped support the family’s livelihood, including funding the education of Gerardo’s children, and continues to be a reliable service provider in the town. Despite facing parking issues due to its popularity, the shop remains an important part of the community, with measures taken to ease congestion.
