Edmar Tacuel, born January 6, 1999, in Tubungan, Iloilo, grew up in a farming family and later earned a degree in Industrial Technology. His sports journey began in 2011 when he was introduced to Arnis but soon found his true passion in Pencak Silat, a martial art combining self-defense, athletic moves, and spiritual focus. He quickly rose to success, winning many local and national medals from 2013 to 2019 and later earned international awards, including gold at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games. Edmar is known for his skillful, fast, and precise fighting style that blends striking, grappling, and weapon use. His achievements have inspired youth in his hometown to take up Pencak Silat, growing the sport’s popularity locally. Beyond competition, Edmar has helped his community by donating sports gear and supporting young athletes, improving both his family’s life and the future of sports in Tubungan.
