Adela Delfin Pimentel, born on September 22, 1928, in Cuartero, Capiz, was a nurse and one of the first graduates of St. Paul’s College in Iloilo. She joined Operation Brotherhood, a Filipino-led humanitarian mission that provided medical aid to Vietnamese refugees during the First Indochina War. On August 27, 1955, while returning from a medical visit in Vietnam, Adela tragically drowned when their small boat capsized, along with a doctor and an interpreter.
