The Salvani Sugar Mill, located in Patnongon, Antique, is a privately owned muscovado sugar mill built in 1886 and is considered the oldest and largest in Panay. Located in Hacienda Salvani, a vast estate that provides jobs to locals and nearby communities. The mill features traditional sugar-making equipment, including a large furnace, mill, and metal “kawa” used for boiling sugarcane juice. The Guisi Lighthouse, also known as Faro de Punta Luzaran, is a historical lighthouse located in Sitio Guisi, Nueva Valencia, Guimaras. Built in 1894, it was part of the Spanish colonial government’s effort to improve maritime safety, in guiding ships through the Iloilo Strait. The structure stands 17.5 meters tall and is made of iron which has deteriorated over time due to rust and exposure to the coastal environment.
