Marben “Boyboy” del Rio is a known local hero, remembered for his heroic actions during the October 2006 typhoon. He was born and raised in Brgy. Barasan, Igbaras, Iloilo, and attended Barasan Elementary School and Igbaras National High School. However, he was not able to continue his studies and soon followed his father learning farming and carpentry. On October 2, 2006, during a devastating typhoon, a jeepney fell into the Tangayan River. Susan Laboriante Pacheo, born on December 3, 1960, is a tourism officer in the municipality of Dueñas, known and credited for her contributions in advocating for the town’s cultural heritage, particularly the loom weaving industry. She was a graduate of Dueñas Comprehensive High School in 1977, pursued her undergraduate degree and Master’s in Economics at the University of the Philippines Diliman. Emilio “Chieffy” Asada Caligdon, born on September 28, 1982, is a celebrated football coach and former left winger who served as the captain of the Philippine National Team.
