The Sitio Buyuan-Baras Coffee Growers Association (SBBCGA) is a local agricultural organization based in Brgy. Tigbanaba, Igbaras, Iloilo, focused on coffee cultivation, processing, and distribution. The association traces its origins to the 1970s with the introduction of robusta coffee plants. The association was formally organized in 2016 however lack of proper training and support, coffee production dwindled. Interest in coffee cultivation and production revived during the pandemic with the growing popularity of coffee shops. Marben “Boyboy” del Rio is a known local hero, remembered for his heroic actions during the October 2006 typhoon. He was born and raised in Brgy. Barasan, Igbaras, Iloilo, and attended Barasan Elementary School and Igbaras National High School. However, he was not able to continue his studies and soon followed his father learning farming and carpentry. On October 2, 2006, during a devastating typhoon, a jeepney fell into the Tangayan River. The sungkahan or sungkaan of the Tajanlangit Family is a traditional Filipino game board made of granite stone, estimated to be around 50 years old.
