Saint Joseph’s Academy of Malinao, Aklan, Inc. was established in 1947 by Msgr. Jose Yayong Insauriga to provide Catholic education in Malinao after World War II. The school began in a renovated convent and received government recognition in 1953, later becoming a diocesan institution under Rev. Fr. Jose Soriano. It has since expanded from one wooden building to five modern structures and now offers senior high school strands such as HUMSS, GAS, ABM, and soon STEM. The academy remains committed to its mission of developing Christ-centered learners guided by the virtues of St. Joseph. With a strong network of alumni and community support, SJA continues to thrive despite challenges like faculty turnover and declining enrollment after the pandemic. The administration ensures safety and quality learning by maintaining school facilities and regularly conducting infrastructure inspections to meet modern educational standards.
