General Perfecto Poblador was a respected Filipino revolutionary leader born in 1857 in Zarraga, Iloilo, and died in 1917 at age 60. He came from a prominent family known for political leadership, including his grandfather Marcelino, the town’s first mayor, and his father Pedro, who also served as mayor. Perfecto played a key military role during the Philippine Revolution, serving under General Martin Delgado as Division Chief of Operations in the Visayas from 1898 to 1901. His leadership helped resist Spanish and American forces, contributing greatly to the fight for Filipino independence. General Poblador’s legacy highlights both his hometown’s important role in the revolution and his family’s lasting impact on Zarraga’s history.
