The Sitio Buyuan-Baras Coffee Growers Association (SBBCGA) is a local agricultural organization based in Brgy. Tigbanaba, Igbaras, Iloilo, focused on coffee cultivation, processing, and distribution. The association traces its origins to the 1970s with the introduction of robusta coffee plants. The association was formally organized in 2016 however lack of proper training and support, coffee production dwindled. Interest in coffee cultivation and production revived during the pandemic with the growing popularity of coffee shops. With support from local government units and various national agencies, members have received training in coffee production techniques, leading to improved quality and recognition in competitions like the Philippine Coffee Quality Competition in 2021. Despite facing challenges such as financial constraints, climate change, pest issues, and limited transportation infrastructure, the association continues to adapt and enhance its practices. They continue to receive support for equipment and training to further develop their coffee production, continuing to contribute to the local and regional coffee industry.
