St. Columban’s Academy (SCA) in Cauayan, Negros Occidental, is a Catholic educational institution founded in 1950 by the Missionary Society of St. Columban, beginning with eight classrooms and 201 students. The school’s mission emphasizes holistic development, integrating academic excellence, Christian values, environmental awareness, and social responsibility for its students. Over the years, SCA has achieved key milestones, including government recognition in 1955, expansion of classrooms, introduction of computer classes, establishment of preschool and senior high school programs, and the construction of new facilities. The school is known for promoting faith-based education, moral formation, and leadership development, producing graduates who are academically competent. Challenges have included competition from nearby public schools and faculty retention issues, which were addressed through strategic partnerships with government and non-government organizations.
