Salvacion Tapal Tropa, born on September 29, 1942, is the last known practitioner of the traditional Yaya ritual in Calimbajan, Makato, Aklan, performed before pag-gaeab or ani (rice harvest). She also served as an assistant traditional midwife and is skilled in herbal healing, traditional physical therapy (hilot), and leading Catholic prayers during burials and community events. Salvacion learned her healing skills and rituals from her grandmother and parents, and she continues to share her herbal liniments made from natural plants like ginger and virgin coconut oil, giving them freely to those in need.
