Jose Amora, born in 1963 in San Enrique, Iloilo, is a well-known Filipino artist skilled in painting and sculpture. Growing up in a family of craftsmen, he showed artistic talent early on and developed his skills through formal education and work with local art groups. Over the years, he created important public artworks like the “Lin-ay sang Iloilo” statue and exhibited paintings that reflect local culture and political issues. Amora also contributed to his community by serving as a Barangay Kagawad and supporting local culture and microfinance projects. His art blends traditional and modern styles, helping preserve Iloilo’s heritage while influencing local aesthetics.
