The death registry book from Carles Catholic Church covers records from January 20, 1945, to August 6, 1947, and was maintained by parish priests and secretaries. It contains Volume 1/142 Specified Death Ceremonies, starting with Eustaquio Sabando and ending with Severino Bartolome. This book holds both historical and spiritual value, capturing not only deaths but also the community’s mourning practices and religious traditions. It is considered rare due to its age and survival through natural disasters that destroyed earlier records. Despite yellowing, tears, stains, and fading ink, the book remains readable but is at risk due to pest threats and loose pages. It is stored with care at the parish office, with regular upkeep and protective coverings to preserve its condition.
