Susan Laboriante Pacheo, born on December 3, 1960, in Parañaque, Rizal, has contributed to the preservation of Dueñas’ cultural heritage and the development of the loom weaving industry in Dueñas. After graduating as valedictorian from Dueñas Comprehensive High School in 1977, she pursued a degree in Economics at UP Diliman, while also being a working student to support her education, eventually earning her Master’s in Economics in 1992. Transitioning to public service, Susan became the Administrative Officer V and later the tourism officer for Dueñas, winning multiple Pearl Awards for her contributions to local tourism and culture. She authored the “History of Dueñas: Facts and Folklores” series and composed the Dueñas Municipal Hymn, Dayawon Ka Dueñas, and the Anihan Festival song. Her work in promoting loom weaving has empowered local artisans and contributed to the economic and community development of Dueñas.
