The University of Antique (UA), in collaboration with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV), kicked off a five-day training and workshop on Cultural Mapping of Panay and Guimaras at the Balay ni Juan, UA Main Campus.

The first day of training encompassed a series of lectures on culture, cultural mapping, fieldwork ethics and procedures, and a talk on tangible immovable heritage, all with the goal of providing participants with relevant knowledge and abilities for mapping Panay and Guimaras.

In attendance are Overall Project Leader Anna Razel Ramirez, NCCA Commissioner Arvin Manuel Villalon, NCCA facilitators John Delan Robillos and Athena Vitor, UA President Dr. Pablo Crespo, Jr., Dr. Grace Pastolero, focal person for the Cultural Mapping of Antique, study leaders, research assistants, consultants, and project coordinators from UA, as well as representatives from the Province of Antique and its 18 municipalities, and the UPV CMPG team.
This event is part of the CMPG Project, a priority project of Senate President Pro Tempore Loren B. Legarda, in compliance with Republic Act 11961, also known as the Cultural Mapping Law.
