Students from various universities including UP Visayas, West Visayas State University, University of San Agustin, and John B. Lacson Maritime Foundation University were given a chance to be interns for the Kaangtanan: Cultural Mapping of Panay, Guimaras, and Negros Occidental Province (CMPG) 1st Conference held in Grand Xing Imperial Hotel, Iloilo City on October 23-25, 2024. This enabled students who were enrolled in various fields to have a chance to experience cultural and heritage work. The Cultural Mapping of Panay, Guimaras, and Negros Occidental Project (CMPG) kicked off its first regional conference with insightful discussions and vibrant cultural showcases at the Grand Xing Imperial Hotel last October 23-25, 2024. Being characterized by innumerable nodes of interactions, sharing, and interconnections, the region of Panay, Guimaras, and Negros Occidental can be encapsulated in the bisayan term kaangtanan.
