The University of the Philippines Visayas Cultural Mapping of Panay and Guimaras Team (UPV CMPG), West Visayas State University (WVSU) Cultural Mapping Team, and external validators coming from the Department of Tourism Region 6 (DOT R6) and the communities and local government units of Iloilo City and the third district of Iloilo (Cabatuan, Maasin, Janiuay, Bingawan, Calinog, Lambunao, Mina, Pototan, and Badiangan) gathered on 4-6 November 2024 at the UPV Little Theater for a community validation on the results of the mapping activities conducted by WVSU research assistants, study leaders, and mappers.
The aim for the 3-day event is to solicit feedback and assessment from the community members or their representatives on the list of items mapped in their community. This is also a crucial step in informing and fostering appreciation of cultural heritage assets present in Iloilo City and the third district of Iloilo.
